Extension Manager will not open. HELP!

I am trying to uninstall and reinstall an extension that is not working but my Extension Manager CS5.5 will not open. When I try to, nothing happens. However, in my task manager, the program is running under the Processes tab but not under Applications.

I've tried uninstalling Extensions Manager, reinstalled it, nothing changed. Then I uninstalled it and installed version CS6. This program will open but when I tell it to import my previous extensions, nothing happens. When I click on a downloaded extension (.mxp) file, it acts like its going to install the extension but then it gives me this error: "This extension can not be installed, it requires Dreamweaver version 9 or greater."

I have Adobe Creative Suite CS5.5 installed so this error doesn't make sense. I have Windows Vista and I've never had any problems with the Extensions Manager before. I don't know what to do to move forward. Please help!

Have you sorted your problem?  I'm having a similar issue here, I'm trying to install an extension but every time I open the extension, it crashes Dreamweaver and I get a not responding sign come up.  I'm trying to find a way of uninstalling extension manager CS4 and reinstalling it, just to see if that works

I had to uninstall the extension manager and then reinstall it. However, I installed the newest version of extension manager and that was not compatible with my version of Dreamweaver so reinstall it but make sure it's the same version of Dreamweaver. It took many tries but it finally resolved itself after many uninstalls and reinstalls. Wish I could provide more clarity but I don't know why it didn't work the first time, took several attempts and then it started working.

Silly question, but how do you uninstall the extension manager?like you, I downloaded and installed the extension manager for a later version but it wouldn't work, it was easy to install, I just went to programs and features.  However, I have no idea where I need to go to uninstall the extension manager that is included with my version of Dreamweaver, which is CS4

It should be listed under 'Programs and Features.' For me, however, it was not. I had to uninstall the entire Creative Suite to get it uninstalled and then reinstall it. I know that's not ideal but I couldn't get rid of it any other way and  you can't install it until you've removed it. It took a while but it finally worked.
