FEATURE REQUEST: JSON Viewer & Editor

Dear Adobe DreamWeaver Team,

as a new feature I would very much appreciate a JSON Viewer & Editor.

Currently my workaround is quite troublesome and prone to mistakes: I use JSONview (Browser AddOn) to view the code and have to manually manipulate the code that is bunched together in one loooooooooooooooooooooooooong line (despite the line break very confusing).

However you are deciding, I am looking forward to your reply. Thank you!

Best regards,

madiko (she/her)

I don't think you are looking forward to Adobes reply - it would be Dreamweaver is only minimally maintained now and no new features will be added. Bug fixes and OS updates only, I believe.

Sorry to be the conveyor of negative news for you.

Although there are some shortcomings, JSON edits very well in DW, I imagine you use code formatting to have a well formed object.

Unfortunally, DW is now in minimum maintenance and therefore will not receive any more new features.

If however you want a strong editor to work on code and especially JSON, I can't recommend you enough VSC.

LATEST

UPDATE: Happy I like to announce: Visual Studio Code was the best choice I could have made.

In the beginning I was overwhelmed by the extend and many many "buttons" to adjust the ide to my personal and professional needs. But after working 3 months with it, I wouldn't miss it any more.

Thanks again for your great advice. It was a gold nugget for me!
