I'm trying to use Dreamweaver CS3 to change the date format on a date but nothing changes when I click a format. Also I tried the Edit Format List and when I click the + to add a new format I get an error "Cannot find format type Date/Time".
Any clues as to how to fix the problem

Thanks
Dave

take a look for yourself what do you not understand? download the screen shot and you can see right away what I am talking. about, I am very upset, I did not wanted to update from 8 to CS3 then to CS4 but I did hopping all the bugs will go away, just to find out that I had to spend my money to find out that the bugs are still there

Take care of it please hurry!!!

Which Edit Format List? If you're referring to the one in the Dynamic
Text dialog box, it's broken. It has never worked. I filed a bug report
about it a couple of years ago, and was told that the development team
was aware of the problem. It wasn't fixed in either Dreamweaver 8 or CS3.

I went back into Dreamweaver 8 to try it and it actually did work, so I was able to work around the problem but something really should be done to get Adobe to look at the issue a little closer because the format function for date does absolutely nothing in Dreamwever CS3
I would really HATE to jump back and forth to get things done not to mention that most people probably won't keep both programs on their compters. Perhaps when I get a little smarter about web design (or conciderably smarter) my workflow will adjust and I'll know how to do this stuff without the aid of all the wizards :)

Thanks

You don't say which format function you're referring to, but if you have
found a bug in CS3, report it:

http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

Give reproducible steps in the bug report. It's only by reporting bugs
that they will get fixed. CS3 went through very lengthy beta testing,
but if no one actually used that feature, it will have been presumed to
be OK.

Often what happens is that something else is added or fixed, which has
an unexpected knock-on effect. It's only when someone stumbles on it
that the new problem comes to light.

I have this same problem. I have submitted a bug report. It is annoying to have to go back and forth from DW8 and DW9 to get the ASP/VB date/time formats to work.

I have the same problem my Bindings/Format is Empty I mean totally empty, and I also jump between DW CS4 to DW8.2 to apply formatting.

I filed a report as well but they are dragging their feet, they coming back to me with question even though I believe I explain myself fairly well with Screen shots attached as well, take a look for yourself what do you not understand? download the screen shot and you can see right away what I am talking. about, I am very upset, I did not wanted to update from 8 to CS3 then to CS4 but I did hopping all the bugs will go away, just to find out that I had to spend my money to find out that the bugs are still there

This is a user to user forum. Ranting here might help relieve your frustration, but it won't do any good. If you have filed a bug report with Adobe and are asked for more information, you need to send it directly to the member of the development team who asked for it. Bugs can be squashed only if the team is provided with reproducible steps.
