The ftp feature of Dreamweaver suddenly stopped working. I have tried both sending the image with the page on which it appears, and directly transferring the image file from the file list. Neither method works.

Can you upload your image with a 3rd party FTP client like Filezilla?

Open your FTP Log under Window > Results >FTP and try a transfer again.
