FTP problems with Dreamweaver

New Here ,

A few days ago, I did an online chat with an Adobe help rep to fix an issue I was having with Dreamweaver (it would always crash immediately upon opening). I allowed the help rep to access my computer remotely, and he was able to resolve that problem. However, after having that done, I started having other issues. I found that the FTP feature in Dreamweaver will not work (can't connect to the host), and in fact, another FTP program I had been able to use with no problem (FileZilla) suddenly couldn't connect to the host either (same host--it's for college courses I'm taking). I know it's not due to problems with the host server or my log in credentials (I've tested it on another person's computer and found that I could connect), so I'm concerned that the Adobe rep, in fixing one problem, might have unintentionally caused some other problems with my computer. In fact, other problems that ensued after the Adobe rep worked on my computer included my preferred web browser suddenly not working and even get a 'blue screen of death' a couple of times (something I had never experienced before).

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing these problems and how to fix them?

I think you should contact Adobe support again because they should have a record of exactly what the tech did and would thereby be able to narrow down the possible relationship between that and the issues you are experiencing now.

Thanks. I was considering doing that. I just thought I'd post something here on the forum to see if anyone else had experienced similar issues or might have an idea of how to fix them.

If you post the specific error you are getting in the FTP transmission we can help to decipher what it means for you.  Otherwise, we can only assume a host issue in which case you should contact your host.
