Google Tag Manager and Dreamweaver Live View

Community Beginner ,
Dec 03, 2016 Dec 03, 2016

I've added Google Tag Manger to all my pages, and it works great. But now when I'm in live view and I click on an element that's linked, the live view takes me to that linked path. Now I can't edit in live view. Any ideas?

Our content editors prefer to work in live view. You're saying we're out of luck?

The thing is if you're clicking on hyperlinked text in Live View, it's going to behave much like a browser.   The other option is to work in Split view and edit the source code.

But that wasn't the case until I added Google Tag Manager scripts to our pages. If I remove the scripts, we're back working as usual in live view. I should also say we are not connected to a server in live view.

Most people reserve Google Tag insertion until the end of their project after all the editing is completed.  Maybe that's why.

I understand but with Tag Management Solutions for Web and Mobile - Google Tag Manager – Google there's no need to manually enter every single tag to every single link for tracking events, campaigns, etc. The Tag Manager does it for you dynamically and gives you a central platform for all your tags, even from other sources.
