Help to get started with PHP

Right, I have just started with PHP and, well, I don't know where to start really! I've got Apache, PHP and MySQL installed, but my main problem now is what to do in Dreamweaver!

Is there anywhere online that I can read how to get started with Dreamweaver and PHP because at first glance it is totally different to ASP. ASP I am really comfortable with. MySQL I have been using for years with ASP sites so I haven't got a learning curve to contend with there.

I have bought David Powers book, but that isn't going to arrive for a number of days, so in the mean time I would like to get started as I really need to get ahead on this job I have.

I have just looked in the bindings panel, and there is a ream of stuff in there that I just don't see with ASP, and this is a completely blank, with no DB connected webpage. What's all that about then?

I am obviously dealing with a completely different beast to ASP here and I need some advice on getting started with PHP and DW. Any links you may have found useful will be very welcome.

Many thanks.

Mat,

The Dreamweaver help pages will lead you through the basics of setting up
your PHP site in DreamWeaver, and get you started with simple operations.
Once you've done that, take a look at:

Tutorials
http://www.w3schools.com/PHP/php_intro.asp

Reference
http://www.php.net/manual/en/index.php

Not to sound old-fashioned or anything, but you could go to a local
bookstore ;-)
