Hello,

I am receiving an error when try to copy and paste something in to my Dreamweaver MX 2004 version:

" While executing DW_Menu_Edit_paste Command in menus.xml, the following Javascript errors occurred:
Type Error : MM.event has no properties. "

You can try this simple fix -

Quit DW.

Find this folder -

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
8\Configuration\WinFileCache-*.dat
(these folders are normally hidden - you may have to use Explorer > Tools >
Folder Options to unhide them)

or on Mac -
Library/Application Support/Macromedia/Dreamweaver
8/Configuration/MacFileCache-*.dat

and delete it.

Restart DW. Works better?

I just fixed my copy of DW 8 on Windows Vista. Here's where you want to look:
C:\Users\<Your Name>\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 8\Configuration\

There will be a file starting with WinFileCache and ending in .dat. Delete it and restart.

Thanks to the person who originally answered this thread. You're a lifesaver!

does anyone know what the equivalent file name would be in the Windows 2000 environment? I'm actually having the same error message in Contribute 3.11 and I have DreamweaverMX v. 6 on my machine. Thanks.

This also solved it for me although my file was named Filecache.dat since I am using Dreamweaver MX on windows XP.

Are you using MX6.0 or 6.1. If the latter, grab the updater from the Adobe
site as soon as you can and install it.
