How remove Flashing icon in Template?

Explorer ,
Jan 29, 2017 Jan 29, 2017

I'm using whatever the newest DW version on CC is. it seemed like a good idea to use a template. I chose the Responsive About Page in the Responsive Starters folder.

Somewhere, it has a phone with a sad face included in it. Does that mean something? I would like to remove it. It shows for a brief second when the page starts up or gets refreshed.

Thanks for insights.

I can't reproduce it.  I don't see any icon to which you refer in Live view, Design view, Real-Time Preview or when previewed in browser with right-click.   Possibly a glitch on your side.   Check your code for errors with Window > Results > Validation.

Any chance of showing a screen capture of what you see?

I can't catch it. It's a quick flash, right as the page opens or refreshes. The page I gave is wrong - it's the basic layouts multi-column page.

Really having my troubles here! I tried to upload it to my server to test on the web, but the uploader doesn't upload the way I'm used to.  I tried test in different browsers and found that the little browser view button in the bottom right corner works only once.

The little demon looks like this:

and it flashes in the area circled. I can't find it in the css background or in the html.  I don't see anything that looks like a  I looked for graphics in the .js but I didn't see any. I can't read javascript so I can't tell if it's calling up anything.

I just discovered something.  It's a warning. Another browser page with the unhappy phone popped up, not flashing, with the message that I didn't save something for the app. ???  The app is probably the related to the bar code in the view in browser menu. I must be the person they made tutorials and demos for.

Are you working a defined local site folder?  That's a critical 1st step when working with projects in DW.

Site > New Site or Manage Sites.

I think so. It's in my site manager.

Normally when I test something, I do it live on the remote server.

I upload a folder with a distinct name, and I find it by its name on the web and on my server, hostmonster.

Testing folder this time is "2017site." index.html and images are inside. I specifically wanted to see if the sad face phone showed when the template page was live online.

The folder doesn't appear in my root directory, my www directory or my public_html directory.

I turn off the creative cloud because I haven't taken the time to figure out how those libraries work, much less the adobe site server. The only problem I expected was the fonts from Wf or TypeKit. I've been hosting my fonts, but want to change to linked google fonts.

The sadface phone icon is part of the DW Preview functionality. It pops up when DW's Live Preview or Device Preview isn't working right. In your case, it sounds like you machine is slow to connect to Adobe's servers and it's flashing the icon before firing up and showing your page.

There's nothing to worry about, it's not actually on your page, it's part of "DW talking to Adobe talking to your browser".
