http://localhost/ does not take me to Wordpress page

I am working my way through Brian Wood's tutorials on using DW with Wordpress.  I am on part 2 http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/dw_wordpress_pt2.html  I.ve installed XAMMP using David's Powers work and it seems to be fine,  I've installed Wordpress and I was in the process of setting the Theme in Wordpress.  I successfully activated the Adobe Developer Connection Theme which is the one Brian is going to use in the rest of his toutorial.  Then he says to type http://localhost/ into the browser to see the first page of the blog with the theme files applied.  When I do that it takes me to the Welcome page for XAMMP for windows.  What am I missing here?

Is your Wordpress installation in the root of the XAMPP server or did you put it in a folder called Wordpress or something similar.  You said you were able to install Wordpress so that path should be what you are looking for.

Hi,

Thanks for trying to help.  At this point I think I maybe in over my head.  I have built two websites with dreamweaver but wanted to try Wordpress because I thought I could get a higher level of performance than what I can build on my own.

Brian's article said to install Wordpress in the htdocs folder, so I have it installed in XAMPP/htdocs.  I guess maybe I misunderstood what he meant.

Dave
