I get a message saying that I don't have appropriate permissions to install an extension

I get this message only on some extensions I try to install.  Others install just fine.  Other times I get a message saying that there was an internal error and that the extension won't be installed, even though the extension is for Dreamweaver CS4, which is what I'm using.  These are for both extensions that are free and ones I have paid for.  I am the admin on this workstation, so I can't understand why I get these messages, especially for the one about permissions. I am using a Dell PC with Vista Home Premium 32bit.

Most likely the VISTA UAC security settings are getting in your way.

To run a program as an administrator, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click  the icon that you use to run the program, and then click Run as administrator.
  2. When you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the administrator password, or click Continue.

Sooo... I gues no one has any ideas about this one then? Do I need to change permissions somewhere in Windows?  As far as I can tell, I have all the needed permissions.  Any help would be great.  In addition, when I try to install the YUI set of extensions, I get a message saying:  Internal error.  The extension will not be installed.  I get either of these messages for about 90% of the extension I try to install.  What gives?  Is there a way to uninstall the EM and reintall it?  So far, I've found no way of uninstalling it.  Any help would be nice.

That appears to have worked!  Thanks so much!  ... no thanks to Vista!
