Image Links & Files Saved From Templates

New Here ,
Nov 29, 2016 Nov 29, 2016

We created email templates in our marketing department, a writer then goes in opens a new file using the dwt we created. There are placeholder images in the template. After the writer adds in the text they save the file with the project number as the file name. So a new file with the writers text, and the placeholder images in there is saved on our server.

We go in and link the images needed using an online save location so it has an http location. then save the changes.

Here is the weird part, if the writer goes back in to the file to edit any of the text and saves. ALL the images re-link to the placeholder images in the template. Is there a way we can stop this? Because its creating a lot of redundancy when a marketing email goes through proofing and each time there is a text edit we are re linking all the images. That could be 3-5 times per email in proofing, and we develop a lot of marketing campaigns that require an email with it.

*we only have instance editable tags around text, not the images. Writers us PC and we use Mac.

Thank you!

You just answered your own question.

Editable regions are for page specific content. Everything outside editable regions gets populated from the main template.dwt.  If you need your text & images to be page specific, put them inside Editable Regions.
