Hi,
I've read through and gather the only way to import local images files into my site is to drag and drop from Windows explorer.
I've used Expression web for years and there was an import function to add files and folder into the site - just curious if I am missing an option or drag and drop from outside is the only way to do this.

Thank you
Dorothy

I'm not sure to quite understand what you try to do... let me rephrase it and tell me if that is what you want to do...

  1. You are working on a web site,
  2. you have an HTML page
  3. you want to place image on that page

am I correct ? or is this something else ?

Hi
No I am in a site. I want to import an image into my images folder from another place on my hard drive.
Is there an import function or do I just drag from the other location or copy paste it into my site structure.
This is not about editing the pages. This is more a site management issue.

I have not used the feature in Dw 2018, but in older versions if you navigated to the image whilst inserting the image link, Dw would tell you that it was not within your site definition structure, and offer to copy the image to the images folder you defined in the site set-up.

if you use a specific folder for your web site images , you should define this folder as default, in web site setting

Thank you both. As with any changes there are things I love about DW and things I miss about Exp Web.
I will play with these suggestions once I get the site settled in.I am finding myself working in Code more than design mode and the power of the program is impressive ;=)

you shouldn't wait to set your site... that cost nothing.. it is as simple as just setting the root folder... but that will avoid much trouble... if only with respect to the image path that will be relative to your document instead of your OS tree

I have the site defined - it's working fine. Adding in files was my only issue with regard to workflow - thank you again.
