Many many folks feel that *any music* that starts
automatically and cannot be turned off is never in good taste,
regardless of the quality of the music.
On to your problem...
In IE7 and Firefox 3 I get the music playing. I see that
you're using the embed tag to add sound to your page. This is a
deprecated tag and some browsers, perhaps the IE that you're using,
may not play the music. One thing to do might be to move to a Flash
MP3 music player, as Flash is very widely supported. There are many
out there, and a lot of them with start and stop buttons that can
be displayed, which then allows the user to have the music or not,
as well as even adjusting the volume of that music from your site.
You many want to start your search here:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=flash+mp3+player
However I did run into a problem with your site...in Firefox
3 your main content area shows up as the code that you're using,
that is it shows the HTML code for your content area. This is
likely due to the fact that your file name for the content is:
http://www.penbal.com/mainframe.bak
The .bak file extension on your server is not set up to be
sent out as HTML or XHTML. I checked the response headers for you
page and it shows that your mainframe.bak file is being served as
text/plain. And browsers are *supposed* to display that as text,
not render it as HTML. IE7 for me *guesses* that the content is
actually the HTML that you intend it to be and renders the code as
HTML for you. The solution to this would be to use a standard file
extension for HTML pages, such as .htm, or .html like you
wowowee_mainframe.htm page does (which shows up properly for me).

built in functionality or general web development questions. You
