Library to assets folder

Community Beginner ,
Jun 06, 2008 Jun 06, 2008
I have created a new library item and saved it in the library folder of my site. When I click on the assets tab in my files panel, I do not see the new saved library item. What am I doing wrong. I am fairly new to Dreamweaver.

I did as you suggested NOW, and selected the item, then Modify, Library, Add Object to Library. IT WORKED!

Thank you very much.

How did you create the Library item? Did you select elements of a page and
use MODIFY | Library > Add Object to Library?

You're welcome.

Be careful with Library items. Once you have made them, YOU CANNOT ADD ANY
INTERACTIVITY to them or you will hork your pages.

So if I wanted to create links to the buttons in the nav bar of my library item, I should do this before I add object to library?

If you are just adding hyperlinks, that would be fine. But you must not
apply any behaviors after the Library item is created.

I tried two different ways.
1. created file from scratch and saved as an lbi file
2. I also tried save as from another library item that was already in the assets folder.
Neither way worked.

What am I doing wrong. The library item is a nav bar with buttons inserted that were created in Fireworks.

Not doing it the way I suggested?

Try closing DW, and then restarting. Do you see it there now? Try
recreating the Site Cache. See it now?
