How do you get around htaccess authorization on a dev site when using Live Data view? I've even tried passing a valid user name and password in the test server address, but it doesn't seem to work. Has anyone done this successfully, or is this just not possible with dreamweaver's live data view?

Are you testing it locally?

No. That would be easy enough to solve. The test server is remote. I'm currently in the process of setting up a new virtual host that points to the same place, but validates based on IP address rather than password. This should get me up and running, but I'd still like to know if there's a solution for password authentication. Thanks!

This may help you. I'm not sure if you can adapt it to the "live view"
statement or not. :(

It's a page-driven way to access a password protected directory.
