You're not really talking about an "extension" I don't think,
but more like
another entire section to your site. You're not just wanting
to control
display properties (ie, they control how what you publish
looks) you're also
wanting to let them control content - which means a databased
system that
records and stores, the collates that info when your user
logs in.
1. Spec out what you want
2. Build a database to contain that information
3. Build pages to bring in the information from the database
and lay your
site out with that.
