MySQL Error: # 2002

I cannot connect with the (online) database of my website suddenly. I didn't do really something different but now there is a white page to see and in Dreamweaver I cannot connect: MySQL Error #:2002 Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket 'tmp/mysql sock' (2). What does this mean??? thanx

Is your db located in a hosting company server, some hosting companys dont allow remote connections

Thanks for your answer. It was that I used an old database connection! the host name got changed in the last year and I forgot to put the new one!!;)
