NEWBIE: revising and posting to remote

I've modified local site HTML pages and have successfully uploaded them to the remote server, but when I access the public site through a browser, the changes are not reflected. What am I missing??

Can you see the changed files on the remote side of the Site Window? Are
you sure your host isn't running a proxy server that only updates every so
often? Have you cleared your browser cache?
