AOL was the first internet provider I signed up to back in the day on a 68k modem. They sent cd discs out to virtually every household in the UK, if my memory serves me correctly (so many years back) - you could use the information provided on that to sign up by some means, which I cant remember. Every dog has its day as they say.......

Yup. At one point I must have had 30-40 unused AOL starter discs which I cut up to make Christmas decorations. Long before Google there was Yahoo, the first decent search engine of the era.

Too true, there certainly was an abundance of AOL discs lying around.

It amazes me just what rubbish you can try and sell and there always seems to be a buyer for it. I can't imagine who would want a redundant AOL cd disc............maybe some old AOL employees who want it for nostalgic reasons.
