Paid for extension and can not get it to go into Dreamweaver cs4

I have tried to upload extension DHTML menu studio into extension but failed and is now sitting on my desktop? I have taken three dreamweaver classes and have not learned anything.

So, you double-clicked on the .mxp file on your desktop, and it said something like "you need Extension Manager CS4" ?

If so, then open Extension Manager CS4 directly, then click Install and select your extension.
