Hi Murray,

Have you take a look at Simple PHP Blog yet? I notice the download plug ins is only 18 kb. I don't know if that is true or not. Note that it works with PHP5, and doesn't need database as I understand this.

Is that what you are looking for, no?

I set up a blog for one of my site the other day using Wordpress (installed
on my own server).

Very easy to set up, easy to customise and has lots of features, was really
impressed with it! Can either have it on its own domain or subdomain, or
just in a directory on an existing site.

I would rather have one with MySQL - I'm looking at WordPress just now...

I decided to play for a bit. This took all of about 15 minutes to
install and configure: http://apptools.com/blog/

It really is slick. I fiddled with it a bit since I first posted, after
trying a few different themes, then doing some minor customization, but
it really is easy to use.

Just as a side note, I noticed the theme I selected, which was free of
course, had a link to a page for a commercial site unrelated to web
development. It looks like creating free themes is a way to get inbound
links to sites. That's pretty crafty. ;-)

Yes, i`ve been reading a lot about internet marketing recently, and this is
one way of getting links to your site that is suggested in a lot places.

I love Wordpress as well, so easy to set up and run, and pretty easy to
customise. Really impressed with it as a package!
