Point to file malfunction

Hello!
I have used Dreamweaver CS3 and have been completely satisfied, but Windows 11 on a HP ZBOOK forced me to buy 21.4.  And now I am not satisfied ... Nothing is better, as far as I have seen so far.

I have two external screens. When i try to point to a file to make a link on Screen 1 I can  not do that but a strange window appears on the laptop-screen 2. Any suggestions to get this fixed?

Dreamweaver is essentially the same today as it was in late 2021 when Adobe moved it to minimal maintenance status.  No new features will be added, except essential security updates.

To insert a link, go to the Insert menu > Hyperlink. 

Or use the Link field in your HTML Properties panel (Ctrl + F3).

Click the folder icon for more options.

I should also mention that CS3 is obsolete software from 2007.  The web has changed a lot since then, and accordingly so have code editors.  The old drag & drop features in legacy versions no longer apply.

Below is the online Dreamweaver User Guide.  You may want to refer to it while you familiarize yourself with how the current version works.  Likewise, you can access online Help anytime by pressing F1 key.

The functions that existed 2007 have been good enough for me since my site is to some degree a wiki with a lot of facts of my hometown: https://www.nykarlebyvyer.nu/

There is a lot of links to and from files and therefore the "Point to" was so good. But I think it´s strange that it does not work when there is a button for it. Maybe it worked in Windows 10. Also problems with formatting text. 

I've tried to find some ather program that could replace Dreamweaver, but have not found any so far. Is there any similar? The size of my site is 4,2 GB, about 34 000 files and 157 000 links.

I'm afraid that for your website, only Dreamweaver CS3 can help you. This is because you are using framesets.
