"I understand that this may not be the ideal platform for such messages, but I believe that we are all a community and owe each other support. Many of us here at Wappler started with DMX and Webassist extensions. As some of you may know, their founder, Ray Borduin, has been battling cancer for the past few months. Unfortunately, cancer has taken him from us today, leaving behind 5 children. For all colleagues who would like to make a donation for his family, you are welcome to do so. And if all you can offer are your prayers for our good friend Ray, that is more than enough."

That's a godd*mn shame. He was only 47, way too young to die.
Thanks for posting.
I wonder what will happen to WebAssist.

I didn't really know Ray being a coder myself BUT it's always very sad news to hear of someone that has passed over, particularly in the light of Rays involvement in producing extentions for Dreamweaver in it's golden era. Sadly that's over now and we have lost 2 great DW evangelists along the way - Ray and Al. May they both be remembered by those who have bought into their products and by those of us that have been aquainted through this forum and our involvement in web-development.

Hello coders, Ray Borduin and I worked together, and co-fouded Pub Site (https://pub-site.com/) together about six years ago. I first met Ray when I purchased his Webassist Dreamweaver database extensions. I am not a programmer, but I knew enough to be able to use them and build sites. Ray proposed the idea of Pub Site because he had developed CafeCommerce, a similar platform.
As you know, Ray unfortunately passed away a couple of months ago, tragically at the young age of 47. Ray's family and I now own Pub Site.
It has left me in a bit of a bind because I still have this platform and I am not a programmer. If something happened to it tomorrow, I would be unable to fix it. That was Ray's job.
I need to find a really good PHP programmer who can help me with it, primamrily to just keep it up and running, but also to fix things and at times add features and upgrades. I would consider a monthly retainer to have someone on call, and then an hourly arrangement for any work done.
Is anyone interested, or knows someone who would be? I would prefer a U.S. based person.

Hi John @Cornelius7,
You have my deepest sympathies.
Most Dreamweaver users are not programmers per se. You're unlikely to reach many qualified candidates here.
List your JOB on Behance where freelance developers are likely to see it. Also the WebAssist forum might have other leads.

Hope that helps. Best of luck.

Nancy,
I appreciate you getting back to me, and you make a good point. I will give Behance a try, and the WebAssist forum.
Thanks!
John

A lot of the developers that used to use Dreamweaver/Webassist have gone to using Wappler. Posting there will most like attract attention.

I very much doubt that anyone using Wappler would fit the critera required, otherwise they probably wouldn't be using Wappler to produce work.........just a thought. Developers would probably be capable of writing their own code outside of what an extension can do, if required. I would assume the successful candidate would be someone that can 'roll their own code' and troubleshoot problems, not just choose some limited default options from a UI.

I am sorry to have to contradict you. I know for a fact that what I said is true, Many devekopers that used Dreamweaver with the extensions from WebAssist and DMXZone have turned to Wappler.

I don't doubt that at all. What l was implying is if you need to use an extension for carrying out simple operations you may not be a suitable candidate for what may be required outside the scope of an extension........whether you use DW, Wappler or any other choose and click UI workflow/option.

I didn't know Ray, nor Webassist, but like everyone else here, I'm stunned that he left so young. You have my deepest sympathies, and those of his family and friends.
As for taking over and maintaining your work, it's true that the idea is often to get closer to a developer or an agency, but it's sometimes interesting to get in touch with universities whose curriculum would be to study development, because there's often an abundance of students who are very keen, who have a lot of potential and can invest themselves fully in supporting even complex projects. The result is often a win/win team.
