problem with connection in database dreamweaver CS5

Hi, I think that you all exprerienced users have delt with this kind of problem before, but i cant find a quick sollution.

When i am in dreamweaver and trying to make connection with a database which i created in phpmy admin  then after my username and password  connection currently doesnt respond and after that error messages show up <<a server timeout has occured,1)make sure that web server is up and running( my is local testing so i used localhost:8080,it works fine in browser) and 2 verify that ODBC DSN exists in the server.

What are the steps i should follow;

ok i used 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost and my database was found
