Project Seven Image Gallery Magic

I'm thinking about investing in this, as a project I'm about to embark on has content that would suit an image gallery.

However, a requirement of the project is to enable the client to easily update the gallery, along with various details for each image, which is the sort of thing that would best suit a simple database and content management / update pages.

So I gues my question is can the P7 IGM be used in conjunction with a database (PHP/mySQL) to populate the gallery?

If not, and you get the drift of what I'm trying to do, I'm open to suggestions...

Cheers,
Iain

You'll get good replies asking this on Project Seven's newsgroup, which are
designed to support their products., specifically the webdev newsgroup.

It doesn't support a database out of the box .. however, I have heard people
say they were able to code it to work with database fed paths to pictures.

Is that anything you'd be prepared to show me how to do?

I say that without knowing how much effort is required, so understand completely if it's quite the bit of code, and sort of thing you could be selling as an extension type thing, rather than posting willy nilly on a forum.

Iain, you'll need to be able to set up a database, and then create some sort
of CMS, to allow the client to administer the photos/content. Once you have
this part sorted, you'd then integrate it with IGM. If you are after a CF
version, much easier IMO than php, Michael Evangelista has done it very
nicely here: http://www.mredesign.com/cfDEV/mrecfgallery/wwwroot/ note: the
second link in the list in the center of the page. Trust me, its brilliant!

Hey Dr. Sven :-)

If I dig a pool, will you pop out periodically to clean it? I'm not as cool
a client as Nancy, but I serve chocolate...

You still in HK?

Cheese is good. Cheese is great! Nancy would have you believe that the
best cheese comes from happy cows, and happy cows come from California. But
they're just hopped up on that funny stuff. Happy Cows come from Wisconsin
:-)

Hey, we (work) have got facilities in Shenzhen and in Ningbo Baowang. I
doubt the chance will ever arise that I'll get to come visit, though :-(
