I have used Dreamweaver MX2004 for many years. I run a small village website and cannot afford the cost of renting Dreamweaver C.C. so I decided a few days ago to downloaded the 30 day trial version of CS6 from the Adobe website. However, I cannot see anywhere how much a licence costs or how to obtain one. Could anyone please advise me?
I tried using the chat help but they didn't seem to understand what I was asking.
Adobe stopped selling CS6 last year. The only way of getting Dreamweaver now is via a Cloud membership

That is what I suspected, but they shouldn't still allow the trial of an old version to be downloaded from their site if if there is no way of licensing it after 30 days, unless of course they are prepared to supply the licence key free in the same way that Macromedia did, for some of its discontinued products.

From what I understand, the idea behind having the trial version available is for users that have purchased Dreamweaver CS6 previously, and lost a copy of their installation files.
I do request you to go through the terms of the subscription and see how much it will cost you versus purchasing an old version that is no longer being developed or sold. Also, you may want to try out Brackets Brackets - A modern, open source code editor that understands web design. as an alternative.
Thanks,

Thanks to you all for the advice. I will give Brackets a try but at first glance I don't think I can load a page from my existing website in order to edit it.
I'llkeep looking.

Assuming the file is on your hard drive go to File > Open.
Brackets does not come with an FTP feature. But you can download a Brackets extension for that if you don't already have Filezilla or Cute FTP.

Many thanks for the help & advice. I am giving Brackets a try.
Incidentally, the CS6 that I am trialling, was downloaded direct from the Adobe website a few days ago so it is definitely not pirated!

No pirated but you can't purchase it. Therefore you can't use it beyond the 7 day trial without a previously purchased license. As I said above, CS6 is no longer sold.

CS6 is legacy software. It can not be legally sold by any agent, re-seller or country. If you find CS6 offered for sale somewhere, it's bogus or worse -- malware that could potentially infect your computer.
I 2nd the Brackets recommendation. In terms of modern coding support, Brackets is light years beyond MX 2004. And it's the same code engine that is built into the current version of DW CC 2017.
Brackets - A modern, open source code editor that understands web design.
If Brackets won't do what you need, a single app Creative Cloud subscription will cost you USD $20/month (1 year contract, paid monthly). Plus you get free upgrades for as long as you remain a member.
