Wow.. six years (!!!!) and this issue is still very much at large! I can't believe we still have to keep clicking indiviudal links to view them. I thought the issues with Illustrator and InDesign were bad... It's just sad to see such long standing issues very much in DreamWeaver as well. Does Adobe even read anything related to issues on their apps? Or do they just stare at their bank balance and watch it grow due to idiots like us to keep paying them for frustration?!

Yes, but they have had to deal with Covid, Ukraine and Climate Change. Give them a fair go!

DW is essentially on life support. Adobe has no plans for bug fixes or new features. They only plan to make OS compatibility and security patches, along with third party library updates going forward.

That being said, the problem you seem to be having is unlikely to be related to this original post. Your issue looks to be the lack of a site definition while trying to preview a page through Adobe's servers (Real-time preview).

You can turn on Open in Browser (the old Preview in Browser) and bypass those servers, under Preferences > Real-time preview > check the box for Default to Static Browser Preview at the top > click Apply.

That will bypass Adobe's confused servers, and open the local file path in your browser (rather than the strange IP address path being used now).

If you want to use Realtime Preview (as well as quite a few other DW features), you need to first define a site, even if you're only making html emails (leave the FTP info blank) so DW can understand what to do with your assets.

If none of the above helps, start a new thread about your issue. Be specific as to how you are getting to that error message, browser version, OS, DW version, etc and the contributors here will be able to get you up and running in no time.

Why are you resurrecting a 6 year old topic? 😕

I have no idea what ANY of this means.  Sorry.  I guess I'm an idiot for not understanding gibberish.

Keep in mind that this is not an Adobe complaint center.  We are fellow product users just like you. Perhaps if you elaborate in more detail about what you're trying to do and can't without all the sarcasm, we could provide you with more assistance.  Just something to consider when you're posting in a user-to-user community.  😉

Hi @denni2579,

Thanks for writing to us. Can you please confirm the Dw version number where this issue is observed, can you try the same workflow with latest Dw 21.3 update and confirm if the issue is still observed. Also, please confirm if the required html page is opened in Dw before previewing in browser. As per Jon's reply above, you can try "Open in Browser" option to view the page in required browsers.

Have a pleasant day!
