confused;
Hello,
I am using Dreamweaver 4.0

Depending upon which screen resolution I have set my computer screen to, my web pages are either to large or too small to fit the screen. For example:
640 x 480 - my web page is too large for the screen and scrolling bars have to be used to see the rest of the page
800 x 600 - my web page nearly fits whole screen nicely
1024 x 768 and higher resolutions - my web page is far smaller than the screen and it now sits at the top left hand corner of
the screen.

Is it possible to get my web page to take up the exact size of the computer screen, no matter what screen resolution the viewer has set their computer screen to, and hence eliminate the need for the use of the scrolling bars?

Thanks for any help.

Read this -

http://www.thepattysite.com/window_sizes1.cfm

Then pick a size you want to support as the minimum browser viewport width.
Then build your page for that size.

Or - read this -

http://www.dwfaq.com/tutorials/Tables/flexible_tables.asp

and make your page flexible.

The previous tutorial is focused on flexible tables - there are also ways to
do this with only CSS. To see them, go here -

Hello Marray 'ACE',

Thanks for the advice. I looked into it but found that the solutions were rather involved. Instead I have posted a message in the Forum asking how to centre (center US) my webpage in the browser.

Thanks, WEBTIME.

Hello,

Please consider this topic closed. I decided to keep my web pages as resolution 800 x 600 and if the user sets their monitor resolution higher than this then I have now centered the page on the screen. This appears to be what many web pages do and I find it acceptable.

Thanks for all the help.

Webtime.
