Changing a site like that will trash your rankings, and
everyone's
bookmarks. The only way to do it would be to also add a
server redirection
with a 301 header (permanently relocated) which will provide
a seamless
redirection AND will notify the SE to adjust their indexing.
On *nix this
is easy with .htaccess - on Windows it's a bit more
difficult, but I have
done it with ISAPIReWrite (Google it).
