Search and Find & Replace functions don't work for large sites

Hi,

As soon as the websites are large (>5000 pages), the search and the F&R functions cease to work

Dreamweaver starts well, but after 2 seconds, the app says "no response" and a few seconds later close with a Windows error message.

thanks in advance

You need a lot more memory.  I have 64 GB of RAM and that's barely enough for what I do.

Large websites are built with databases to store the content and even huge websites like the New York Times or Amazon.com can be built with a single "web page". But Dreamweaver should still be able to search a site containing a great many files.

close with a Windows error message.

What error message are you getting?

thanks for the info. I've used Dreamweaver for about 20 years and I've always found it unable to search large websites.

I'm using a new computer so I thaught that il would do a little better than before. It's the contrary. The F&R function is working for small and medium-sized websites only.

the error message is one that I'm more and more used to see with Adobe (Photoshop also). It's in French and would be more or less : Dreamweaver has encountered an error. Windows has shut down the app.

Yes.  But brand new does not mean you have all the latest graphics drivers and Win security updates.

Also, how much RAM memory do you have?  F&R on a very large site takes a huge amount of memory.

thanks Nancy

I thaught it was 16 Go (info that was in the description) but apparently it's only 8 Go

I've tried to give the real time priority to Dreamweaver in the Ram allocation, but the F&R does not work better and the priority is reset to normal automatically
