Search Engines and AJAX

I know that if a page dynamically loads a page with text that does not require URL parameters, that text can be indexed for the page being crawled. Would that be the same for Spry/AJAX Data pulled in from an XML file?

If there isn't a full page refresh (ie, a new page request) then odds are
that Google will not be able to get to it.
