Setting up DWcs5 on IIS7

Guest

I am trying to set up dreamweaver CS5 with a new computer using Windows 7.  I am dead in the water and have been for a month now.

First off I am working with an old site made in ASP classic.  I have everything set up but I keep getting  HTTP Error 401.3 - Unauthorized when i try to access the page. I also get http error 401 unauthorized when i try to set up the DSN.

I am using my local machine as a test server and uploading to a commercial hosting service for my production server.

I am a novice at best but I have always been able to get this thing running on windows xp with a little trial and error but I cant get anywhere with this.  Can anyone help me please.

The title of your thread is a little conrfusing.  DW CS5 doesn''t need to be set up on IIS7.  It just needs to be installed on Windows 7.

1.  Have you been able to install DW CS5 or is the problem with the installation per se?

2.  If so, have you created a Site in DW CS5?

3.  Have you set up IIS7?

4.  If you go to localhost/somepage.asp can you see it?

5.  It seems te me that your problem is probably not with setting up DW on IIS7 but on making your ASP site work with the newly set up server.  Is this correct?

Classic ASP is not enabled by default in IIS7. You might find this article helps: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/setup_asp.html.
