Is there a foolproof way to sync my desktop machine with my laptop. I keep having deleted snippets show back up on my desktop.

Are you deleting only custom snippets, or snippets that come with the program (and get reinstalled with every update)?

No, these are snippets I've generated. Unfortunately, the empty folders reappear when I sync settings and relaunch Dreamweaver. The snippets I use are still there as well on both machines. I am an old Dreamweaver user but am new to the cloud

Hopefully someone who uses the sync function will be able to figure out what's going on for you.

I still use the old "copy the folder and paste it into the new version" method for transferring my custom snippets. I don't trust automatic sync functions, they seem to have a knack for doing strange things at random time intervals.

Thanks for trying. It's not interfering with my work but it's a nuisance. I like tidiness. New to the forum as well.

  1. Sync your main device with preferred settings to the Cloud.
  2. Log-in to your 2nd machine and Import settings from the Cloud.
  3. Close DW.
  4. Reopen DW.

Nancy, Thank you so much! I have been doing this over and over.

1) I opened main DW with correct settings and synced settings

2 ) closed main DW

3) opened second DW

4) checked import sync settings

5) closed second DW

6) reopened second DW

7) under gear icon, saw "Updated settings are ready" with Apply Now button

8) Clicked button and empty snippet folders came back? My current snippets are there too.

I know you gotta know what to do?

What is my error?
