I had DW cs5, upgraded to CC and made a new site, used the same website folder as before
why did it it not smoothly transition? Now i have every file, document, includes content and all with this ? mark.
i did a look around and i see that the question marks are not normal, they indicate no availability to an apache server fir testing php in DW. so, you guys are just off on a tangent aren’t you.
i fix this myself.

The newer versions of Dw are very dependant on the correct site definitions.
Have you checked for duplicate files, supported file extensions, .temp files, unusual or multiple file extensions (eg .inc.php.temp).

well, i truly have no idea what you are referring to. Can it really be this hard??
it is simply not recognising any of my pages. When I click off and go back to cs5 all is ok.
my file extensions are .php but i dont see why this should matter. if cs5 seen it.
ive been on this all day!! its doing my head in. If Im going to pay a monthly fee is there not someone on help desk who can help me? is there a number to call.

The reason I placed Prerans name in the post is because he is the Adobe staff member for this forum, by placing his name in the post he will automatically be sent a copy of the post.
It may take a few hours for him to reply as he lives in a different time zone, so please be patient.
The members of this forum are users just like yourself, so all we can do is make sugestions, especially when it is something we have not heard of happening before.

Could you post a screenshot of what you are seeing, is it diamonds with question marks in?

yes, it is, as you describe it seems to be anything related to php.
i am looking in design view. i am looking on local site not the remote server or testing server. it’s just when i open cc edition i see everything but for those <.?> marks

Are you talking about these question marks, in the Files window...

If so, it's normal. That's the new icon for .php files.

Did Jon's response help? Can you provide us with a screenshot of what you are seeing on your computer, if that is not the case?
Thanks,
Preran

all i see on that link is a snip of the file window with red circles around some question marks. how does that equal question marks being normal?

Is it when you preview the page in browser or live view or are the question marks in the file panel, I think that's what Jon is getting at.
If its when you are previewing the page then its a special character(s) encoding issue

Thank you for letting us know. Should help other users with a similar issue. When asking questions in the future, it would be useful to provide screenshots so that we know exactly what's happening on your computer.
Have a nice day.
Thanks,
Preran

Sorry, your explanation of the question marks wasn't clear. I was just making sure you weren't talking about the changes to the Files window.
Being able to see the code in Code View, but getting a not found message in the other half of the Split sounds like you're in Live View and don't have a local testing server set up for the site.
You'll need that with newer versions of DW in order to see parsed .php in Live View.
The info is a little older, but the process is virtually identical: How to set up a testing server in Dreamweaver
