What is purpose on new blue ruler atop Split and Design views?

I see a new blue ruler at the top of the regular ruler i both the Split and Design view pages. What is it for? There's no tooltip describing its purpose or its appearance.

Neither is the a deactivation button.

Please help me find out why it's there? There's nothing intuitive about it.

Thank you.

It's the visual media queries bar for creating breakpoints in CSS for mobile, tablet, desktop.  I don't use it myself.  But some people like it.

Use Media Queries to design responsive sites in Dreamweaver

On the Common (vertical) Toolbar, there is an icon to show/hide visual media queries bar.  If you don't immediately see it, click on the 3 dots icon to customize your toolbar.  You'll be presented with other tool options.  See screenshot.

Whew! Many thanks, Nancy!

Glad it was easy to deactivate; wish it would have been set up more intuitively so that users could (a) easily recognize its purpose, (b) open a tooltip that told more about this feature, and (c) quickly find and click a "close" icon for it, once its purpose was determined and found to not be needed.

Hopefully, developers will soon add an appropriate tooltip and a contiguous Close icon to make life on DW CC 2017 easier.

Thanks again. Your answer was Correct. I'm pleased to have recovered that valuable rel estate.
