RE: (Customer ID No.: 114385075/Case No.:172950009)

Dear Support,

While logging into our company's virtual server hosted by Goddady, without authorization, Bonjou downloads and installs on my local Windows 2003 server. I notified Godaddy at 480-505-8877, and tech support opened Incident ID 2825878. The program downloads are as follows:

mdnsNSP.dll
mDNSResponder.exe

I contacted Adobe and the representative, Emlyn, referred to knowledge base article: kb400982. Another representative, in the Version Cue Department said that because I agreed to the terms of the Adobe Contract; I authorized Adobe to install any program on my computer without further authorization. He said that Bonjou is an Adobe share service program.

However, Bonjou manifests itself into the DNS annd TCP/IP registry records of the local server and further attempts to download files into the virtual server. For snap shot images, go to counciledu.org/Bonjour.zip

What is the purpose of this program?

Why should I install this program on a production server which is not a host server?

It's used by the CS Suite to ensure that different apps within that suite
can communicate with each other across a net.

And why is this useful?

Or in other words, it's a way of spying on those "different apps" across
our networks? Most likely to check validity of ownership?

So when are they going to require a blood sample/DNA check in order to
validate software? 😉 It seems, these days, that everyone complains
about big government but "Big Business" tends to enter our lives more
often. I digress.

I remember YEARS ago I tried to buy and download some fonts from Adobe. To
do that, I first had to download some sort of 'Adobe Downloader' software to
then download the fonts.

Of course, this didn't work and we must have had a dozen exchanged with
Adobe support on the phone and email. They finally just emailed me the fonts
and gave me a refund.

While 'spying' isn't out of the question, i wouldn't doubt that it's just
really bad and bloated software design. The bigger the software company, the
more absurd their software logic seems to be.
