What versions of Dreamweaver can connect to a server by TLS 1.2 protocol?

I have just had to migrate my web site to a new host only to find it uses TLS 1.2 connectivity to the server.  My old Dreamweaver is not compatible with TLS 1.2, but on the oformer host's server I could connect with passive FTP and SFTP.

All Dreamweaver versions prior to 2017 do not support TLS 1.2. However, as Dreamweaver is in minimal maintenance mode it may not make sense to invest in it just for an FTP client. Have you considered to use filezilla or alternative FTP applications for file transfers?

I am using FileZilla, but would prefer a version of Dreamweaver that does both construction and uploading. Do you know if CC 2021 V21.1 might be able to connect using FTP over SSL/TLS with and selecting passive FTP. I saw this somewhere and copied it, but it didn’t identify the version.

Owing to security requirements, all web services use TLS 1.2 connections now.  This is built in to your computer's operating system and web browser.  If you use an older operating system & browser, you may need to upgrade to the latest versions available for your device.  See this article for more details about TLS support.

Thanks Nancy. I have been using Dreamweaver 8 successfully for over 15 years on the old host’s server, but now it looks like it might be time to upgrade to a more recent version as I have not been able to make D8 connect by Secure FTP. My computer runs Windows 10 Version 22H2 so the more recent versions of Dreamweaver should be able to make connection with the new host’s server. Col

Macromedia DW 8 hasn't been updated in 20 years.  You have much catching up to do because the web has changed a LOT.

I urge you to try Dreamweaver CC free for 7 days first.  If you don't like it, you can cancel the trial and owe nothing.
