When trying to open index page- Dreamweaver crashes- WHY?

I recently transferred my files to a new laptop. I am unable to open my older Dreamweaver files. Is the problem linked to the updated Dreamweaver version? Thanks

• What is meant by "I can't open my old DW files?"
• What if any error messages or codes are you seeing when you open files from Dreamweaver 2021?
• Did you restart your computer after installing?
• Did you right click the DW icon and select Run as Administrator?
• Does this happen with all files in all defined site folders or just certain ones?

If the files are in the same location and you used a backup of your entire machine the files should still be there.  If they are not, they your transferred files might not have worked. Do you still have access to the backup?
