Why can't I connect to my database

New Here ,

Please help me I have been stuck trying to connect for a day or two now and have read other threads.

I'm getting the old error of no test server runnig on the machine or that the site does not map to mmServerScripts when trying to insert a recordset/connecting to database

I don't know where to start - Under "files" where the location of my site is displayed it says I'm connected to a test server(green).

All the Site files are located in a folder within htdocs.

"Local Site Folder" is set to mmServerScripts I had it set to the root of the site before but that did not work.

Similarly, I set the root of the test server to mmServerScripts after troubleshooting and neither locations worked. Connection is set to LocalNetwork to connect to http://localhost

The file I'm working on is saved in the site root.

PhpMyAdmin is working nicely and I have tables within it!

What am I mising?

I'm boardering on nervous break down!

That means your site definition in Dreamweaver is incorrect. See the following tutorial for details on how to define a PHP site correctly in DW: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/setup_php.html#articlecontentAdobe_numberedheader_2.
