Changes to php scripts causes script to RUN on server!

When I make a change to a php script, the script RUNS on the server as if I typed the url in a browser and hit enter!  How is this possible.  I have Dreamweaver 20.2

I have verifed this is happening by looking in our log files after I make a change to a file.  I notice that the script that "runs" has random letters added to the files name.  [quote_sckcalc_2uj16ehs4z.php]  The 2uj16ehs4z is NOT part of the files name.

Any ideas why/how this could happen!

Thanks!

Without more information, I can only guess that your script is hooked up to other scripts residing on the remote server.  Or maybe there are cron jobs at work which you're unaware of.

Thanks Nancy!  I'm sure it's not cron related.  One of the files is brand spanking new and every time I edit it, even a comment, it generates a server log file entry using the Dreamweaver cached temp file.

FYI - I have "Preview using temp file" Disabled. Capture.PNG

Does your work environment reside on a local testing server like Wamp, Xampp or Mamp Pro?

No Nancy.  I work locally on my C: drive and then sync to our Web Server.  BTW... this seems to be happening to only a select few scripts.  Others don't behave like this.  I appreciate your help but I am going to close this Post.  I don't think this can be solved is a forum environment.

Again.  Thanks for you help.
