Having trouble with Dreamweaver 2018.. Whenever I try to create a new site a pop up message that says "The folder you have chosen is inside the folder for another site and might cause sync" though the folder is not in the other folder. If I continue the thing just goes crazy and starts syncing everything and it even deletes some things. I have tried about everything and I even restarted Dreamweaver and uninstalled it and installed it again. Anyone know how I can fix that problem?

ALsp alerted David Powers about this problem back in 2009.

The solution is most likely to be found in your Site Setup. To resolve:

  1. go to Site > Manage Sites
  2. choose the site with the problem and hit the Edit (pencil) button
  3. in the Local Site Folder hit the folder icon
  4. choose the site's folder
  5. save the configuration

The end result should be similar to

C:\wamp\www\[yoursite]

Turn Synch off or use the last stable version of Dreamweaver: CS6. Having defined sites pointing to sub-folders of existing sites, or having multiple defined sites for different purposes is a very convenient thing to do sometimes. It's one of many reasons I'm hanging on with CS6 for production work and only using CC for testing.
