Dreamweaver lag

I have recently started coding with Dream Weaver again.  When I start to type the code, there is an extreamly long lag (about 2 seconds) for the code to apear on the screen. From what I can gather it has something to do with it trying to auto predict what I am typing.

I am running the latest verstion of Dream Weaver

My system specs are:

Windows 10 Home Version 1909

Processor: Intel Core i5-9300h CPU @ 2;40 GHz

Installed RAM: 8.00GB

Is there away to get rid of this lag, or should I be looking for another option for coding to avoid the time waisted on this lag?

This is a known issue.  See correct answer below.

File your bug report from the DW Help Menu and revert to a previous stable version from your Creative Cloud desktop app.  Post back if you need help finding Older Versions and turning off Automatic Updates.

Are you sure it's the auto prediction and not the live site running through the DW software? They have a lot processes if all you want is linting... maybe try an alternative. My solution for Dreamweaver has always been to use a different product: Adobe for art, anything else for anything else.

sublime text

Jupyter Notebook

Notepad++

VS Code *might not help you but this is my fav.

I should also mention that Dreamweaver works best when you define a local site folder that resides on your primary hard drive; not cloud or networked drives.   See screenshot.

Site > Manage Sites -- Local Site FolderSite > Manage Sites -- Local Site Folder

Switch to Design view from the Document Toolbar. It's quicker for editing than Live view.

It's a known fault that Adobe don't seem to know how to fix..

You need to delete a registry file which fixes things for about 25 - 30 minutes. [Uncalled for remarks removed by moderator as per forum policy.]

I have just marked Nancy's answer as Correct because it is the best solution for the moment. I, like Nancy, am a user of Dreamweaver and we do our best to help fellow users with their problems.

If you have a beef with the product, then complain to Adobe. But do not belittle people that are devoting their time, free of charge, to help others.

Wappler, the only real Dreamweaver alternative.

Apologies.. I would edit my reply, if it would allow.

It is frustrating when the known issue gets the same (non-)solution wheeled out and accepted as the answer time after time.I also asked Adobe about the security implications of moving back to 20.1, as 20.2 contains some security fixes.

LATEST

There is no security issue with reverting to version 20.1.
