DW sluggish to update fields in properties menu, other issues

Been a nuisance for a while now. Image URL updates within field box don't often take. The alt text field box can't be edited often unless you click a bit outside in another command. Edit image settings icon often crashes DW.
It's a poorly designed area, anyway. Still hard to enter long URLs in a field box that holds so few characters.

I would start with restoring preferences. Unusual behavior in Dreamweaver? Try restoring preferences.

If that did not help, check your system requirements to see if your computer has what it takes to run DW. Dreamweaver system requirements

As a last resort, try doing a clean install of DW after uninstalling using the CC cleaner
