Latest version of DW running slowly [Known Issue]

Does anybody out there know how to kick Dreanwaver in the butt and get it to perform like a real piece of software?

I'm 81 and I don't want to be found dead over the keyboard.

Please don't tell me "slow as whalepoop" is a feature.

A virtual Reese's Peanut Butter Cup to the wise individual that has an answer to this problem

(that ought to embarass the hell out of Adobe)
