I began with Dreamweaver 2017 a few days ago, and I have a question.
Preview in Primary Browser. This works well, but I get a preset title: 'Real Time Preview.'
By right-clicking on a file, from the list of files, I get the un-prepared title I am looking for. I cannot find this option anywhere in Keyboard Shortcuts, so it's not possible to use it. And on my Mac I can't get opt-F12 to work in any case.
So where can I find 'Open in Browser' so I can assign keys to it.
Thanks
Unfortunately, Adobe hasn't given us the ability to set F12 to Open In Browser (the old Preview in Browser) using DW's interface, but you can still remap it, if you're comfortable with making a very small change to one of your program files...
1. Close DW and go to...
Windows: C: > Program Files > Adobe > Adobe Dreamweaver CC 2017 > configuration > Menus > MM
Mac: Applications > Adobe Dreamweaver CC 2017 > configuration > Menus > MM
(I think, I don't have a Mac to test)
2. Open the file "

F12 opens your page in Real-Time Preview.
If you want to open in browser without RTP, use Right-Click instead of F12.

2. Open the file "PIB_Dynamic.js"
2a. As always, make a backup in case something goes sideways. Add _old at the end of the back-up's file name.
3. Search for the text "dw.browseDocument". There are 3 spots with that code, but the first two are just comments. The right one should be on or about line 433, and change the text "isPIB" to "true"
The finished line of code will look like...
dw.browseDocument(dw.getDocumentPath('document'),theBrowser, "-1"/*help argument*/, false /*use temp doc*/, true);
4. Save the file to your desktop
5. Drag the file into the original location from Step 1. You will be prompted for your Admin credentials in order to make the copy/replacement
From there on out, whatever you have set as your Primary browser will open "the old way" with F12.

Wow, Jon, that seems to work! Thanks so much- you’re a genius!
Thanks again,

It has been a while, but they've finally given us the option of using F12 for Open in Browser vs the often glitchy Real Time Preview in CC 19.0. There's now a checkbox for "Default to Static Browser Preview"...
No more modifying the program files.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
We were recently forced to switch from CC 2013 to CC 2018 due to results of vulnerability testing. PIB has been nothing but a huge PITA. Actually, DW 18.1 has been a huge PITA. Your hack works WONDERFULLY.
Now, if anyone can tell me how to get the stupid "YOU CAN DO THIS.." to stop appearing every time I hover over something new?
