I though this would be simple but

I finally got around to adding security to my web server.     On my personal web page  i simplyy too the existing index.html and copied it and rename index.shtml and expected all to be good, instead ny two columns in the page body get treated as one

http://www.kasdivi.com

works as its has

https://www.kadivi.com

shows the problem...

Some how I imagine this is just a simple oversight?

Any thought or inputs would be appreciated

No.  That's not how it works.

Your domain at https://www is not secure.

  • Did you purchase an SSL certificate for your web domain yet?
  • Which certifying authority did you purchase it from?
  • Did you  have your web host install the certificate on your server?  Or did you install it yourself?

my site is currently secured under a certificate issued by cert.org.  more of an non traditional approach coming out of the shareware community. it , while not main stream, is better in my mind then self signed certificates.

relooking at the warning i do see if i have an issue with the cerificate not matching the specified url.  I do need to pull the string on that

the issue i am trying to raise here is why the same code for a responsive index page does not work in both instances.  index.html vs index.shtml

Is your server configured to support SHTML files?  I don't use them much but when I did, I had to configure it myself within an .htaccess file and add it to my local server's php.ini file.

Preran is an Adobe staff member. They go through periodically and mark answers as correct or helpful. Sometimes they'll jump the gun a bit if the original poster doesn't come back right away. You can un-mark the answer under Nancy's post, or any moderator can do it for you...

More than self-grading, it helps other users with a similar question that come across this post through a search engine. They do not have to wade through all the posts to get to the correct answer. Like Jon said, we use discretion when marking answers, and we are not always right. We rely on the original poster to correct our decision.
