Some images are not displaying on a basic simple page

For some reason I am having issues displaying some very basic site images. The image shows as blank on the page.

I was using a .jpg that didn't show but when I made a version as .png it shows up fine. (both pics are on the server in images dir.)

They are both small files and small images

same BASIC HTML page (no css etc.) same tag like:

<!-- shows-->

<img src="images/test.png" alt="" />

<!-- no show-->

<img src="images/test.jpg" alt="" />

Any Idea why the .jpg does not show?

Could it be something at the host level?

Hi all,

Thanks so much for looking into this....

I noticed the ColorSync Profile was empty on the problem image

Color Model is RGB

size 750 x 125 pixels

File: 52KB

--> Well I think I found the issue: it turned out to be a permissions issue - the file had gotten it's permissions messed up... after resetting them now the file shows up fine!

Thanks for all your suggestions

Did you export your JPG to sRGB color space?  Most browsers do not recognize CMYK color profile which is mainly used for print.

How big is your image in pixels and filesize?

If everything has been uploaded to the right location, and in the right color mode, and with the identical CaSe StRucTurE to the links being used, it could be a sticky browser cache issue.

Ay answer you get will be pure speculation. The ability to get an accurate answer is up to you. All you need to do is post a link to the web page that exhibits this issue.
