After modifying a .php page, I PUT the page.  It appears to work, but then I look at the server directory, and the page has not be updated.  I can GET a page from the server and it updates my local drive.  I have uninstalled Dreamweaver and reinstalled it but same thing. Instead of updating the page

which is located in customcutstencil.com/public_html/quoteform4/, it creates a new directory, customcutstencil.com/quoteform4/ and places it in there.

Your server's ROOT directory should never show in your local site folder.  The result would be an unwanted  duplicate on the remote server.

Expand your Files Panel to display Remote and Local sites side-by-side.  They should be nearly identical except for your server's ROOT which only shows on the remote side.
