Hello,
we are trying to install Adobe Acrobat DC on a provisioned Citrix XenDesktop 7.6 Farm.
Installation has been customized using the customization wizard. As described here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/citrix.html
The Installation is working on the Server where the installation originally has been made. User don't get any Online Dialoges Product is activated correctly.
Since this farm is provisioned as described here:
New Server with different Hostnames start from the same Disk.
If users log on to this new Server and start Adobe Acrobat they are presented with a Dialog to Log In as if the application has not been customized or activated.
How can this Problem be resolved? Has someone encountered the same problem or even found a working solution?
Many Thanks for your support in advance
S.Moser

Hi,
As you are using imaging tools so you would require to use Adobe PRTK (provisioning ToolKit) to license the tool along with --stream option. (Using Adobe Provisioning Toolkit Enterprise Edition)
First thing is, make sure you have a Volume License Key for Adobe Acrobat DC. Then download a tool from Adobe called: Adobe Provisioning Toolkit Enterprise Edition
1. Open a CMD prompt and navigate to the program folder
2. adobe_prtk.exe --tool=VolumeSerialize --generate --serial="<ENTER SERIAL #HERE>" --leid="<ENTER LEID #HERE>" --regsuppress=ss --eulasuppress (This will generate a Permanent offline grace - prov.xml file)
3. This prov.xml file should then be loaded along with --stream option to work on an image.
adobe_prtk.exe --tool=VolumeSerialize --provfile=<ENTER PATH OF PROV.XML FILE> --stream
When you use this image, it should not ask the sign in dialog again on the new server.
Thanks,

Doc: http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/licensing.html#imaged-os-deployments
btw, 7.6 is not supported. However, that doesn't mean it won't work, but keep in mind the config is untested.

Hello,
we are having a nightmare with this.
We have created the prov.xml file, ran the serialization command on the gold image. When loading Acrobat DC on the gold image it works fine. After the image has been deployed the slaves are not activated so essentially the tool isn't working.
We are running Xenapp 7.6, Windows 2012 R2.
Any other ideas?
thanks

The tool should work properly. What was the result (code) when the prov.xml file is generated and applied in steps 2 & 3. Also did you use the '--stream' option in step 3, because this is the option that is used to make it work on images.
Thanks,
Vinod

Hello,
We are running into the same issue with XA7.6 on PVS 7.6 and Server 2012 R2. I can key the master machine, but the provisioned targets are challenging users for the activation key. I downloaded the latest version of the Adobe Application Manager from the Using Adobe Provisioning Toolkit Enterprise Edition link above and installed it. After installing the tool (no errors), the adobe_prtk.exe utility doesn't show up anywhere on the hard drive. I found and older version of the tool and installed that. The adobe_prtk.exe file did show up, but when I tried to run the command-line string with the key and leid to generate the prov.eml file I get an error 14. We opened a ticket with Adobe over a week ago and can't seem to get anyone to call us. When we try to talk to support we get run in circles. It is very frustrating as you might imagine and the client is livid at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
adobe_prtk.exe --tool=VolumeSerialize --generate --serial="<ENTER SERIAL #HERE>" --leid="<ENTER LEID #HERE>" --regsuppress=ss --eulasuppress

Hi,
Has there been any news on this ? Need to buy Adobe for an identical environment. Currently even struggling to buy the correct Volume License product ? Where and how do I buy it ? Will it work in my XenApp 7.6 provisioned environment if I do ?
Thanks

Thanks Steve. Can you please confirm one more thing for me since I am not getting anywhere with Adobe. Which licensing model did you use ? I am told TLP. I have a 100 user Ctx environment as yours above but only need 20 Adobe Pro users.
Thanks.

Yes, we had the same experience. We actually opened a ticket and got a response saying they would call us within 24-48 hours, but we didn't hear from them for weeks. I finally resorted to the forum and was able to get my questions answer after a few days. The service has really gone downhill. Below is the only info I have on the license that I got from the client - It was a volume license purchased through a re-seller. If you ask for a volume license that is supported for Citrix Provisioning, they should get you the correct version. They won't however tell you what you have to go through to get it to work:
Item No | Product Name | Product Version | Product Language | Product Platform | Additional Text |
1 | Acrobat | 12 | Universal English | Windows | LIC SN |

Hi Steve,
Yes had the same here. No phone call back. Thanks to your post which matches our problem exactly I was able to make some progress. I am pretty sure the TLP license is correct.
Many thanks.

Hey all together
Is there a solution for this yet?
I am also at the same point right now. Just set up a Citrix Farm 7.8 with provisioning services. Created a MSI file with Adobe customization wizard and envoked offline activation, then installed it on the master server.
Then promoted the vDisk version where adobe is installed to the citrix servers. With Administrator, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC opens without problems on all servers. But when I try to open Adobe with a User, the Windows pops up which says:
"Login requested: A login with your adobe ID is nessecary to activate adobe software" (Translated from german).
I Have enough licenses for every server, those are TLP volume licenses.
So how do I get rid off the Login Window at the user's sessions? Maybe provide the login infos via GPO or registry entry?
I don't have access to the enterprise portal, so packager is not an option for me.
If someone got me a solution for this, I would be very thankful!
Best regards

Your product does not think it is licensed so activation was not done correctly I suspect.
Did you take a look at this? : Re: Acrobat DC Enterprise Licensing on provisioned Citrix Terminal Server issues
